Heading is recruiting a Loan Recovery Officer, to be based in Maputo, Mozambique.
Duties
- Manage a portfolio of delinquent and non-performing loans (NPLs).
- Contact defaulting clients (via phone, email, and field visits) to negotiate repayments.
- Assess clients’ financial situations and propose suitable repayment solutions.
- Negotiate repayment plans and loan restructuring agreements.
- Monitor agreed payment plans and ensure compliance.
- Prepare periodic reports on recovery portfolio performance.
- Collaborate with the Legal team on litigation and recovery processes when necessary.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and banking regulations.
- Update internal systems with accurate records of client interactions.
- Identify risks and recommend mitigation actions to reduce losses.
Requisites
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Economics, Law, or related fields.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in loan recovery, collections, or credit management.
- Experience in the banking sector.
- Knowledge of credit analysis and risk management.
- Familiarity with Mozambican credit and debt recovery regulations.
- Experience with banking systems is a plus.
